My Best Work is...Not Here

I have just recently learned that anything I plan to submit to any literary journal cannot exist on this website first, due to the fact that most journals want something called North American Publishing Rights. I think. I think that's what it's called. I am new to this.

I get it. But this makes me a little sad. Who else is visiting my site besides my mom (HI MOM!) and on occasion, my husband? I meant for this site to be my "artwork on the fridge" way of sharing my work with a teeny, tiny, (admittedly 96% my actual family) audience. In the interim, it's a little bit of a ghost town. A shell of a site, with a few pieces I wrote that I don't plan to submit anywhere. Patience, tiny audience! Patience, mom!

Here's hoping that the pieces I loved will either get published, OR, they will get rejected so many times I realize that they are only fit for what I am now affectionately calling "my digital fridge door." That does not have any food in it. Because it's for the art. Online.

In any case, for the person reading this, (hi mom! Look, I have a website!) please know that I'm sure there will be more content here soon. Better content. Blog content. And poems and essays that I do not plan to submit elsewhere, or those that have been published in other journals. Hopefully.

About Me

I'm a writer, a storyteller, and a culture warrior. I love how narrative connects people and builds common ground over shared values. This is my "room to ramble" for all the stories I carry.
